About me
My Story
My mother passed down her passion for horses to me from the day I was born. She was also the one who ensured that this passion, intuition, and the many dreams I held for these impressive creatures would not remain unfulfilled. Despite immense social pressure, she had the courage to fulfill her dream of owning a horse, paving a path that I would step onto many years later.
When I was 5 years old, I found myself for the first time on the back of the horse that would change my life forever. He was a 9-year-old Icelandic horse, freshly shipped to Germany from Iceland, who had been working in a riding school for a few years. He was an incredibly smart horse, born to lead and to give strength to everyone around him with his unwavering presence. Due to the monotony of riding in line, alongside the harsh cues and mistreatment he experienced, he became desensitized and deteriorated both physically and mentally. There was no trace left in his eyes of joy for life or for working with humans.
Understandably, it was no easy task to motivate this Icelandic horse—whom everyone had already written off as lethargic and lazy—to give life and himself another chance. Together with him, I embarked on a long journey, searching for a way of working with horses that would keep them physically and mentally sound: an approach grounded in lightness, joy, growth, and deep connection. The countless methods suggested to me that relied on pressure, force, and suppression simply did not resonate with me and always left me with a bad feeling. Yet I also realized that I was of no help to my horse unless I possessed what it takes to be a herd leader—the only one ultimately capable of restoring a horse’s self-confidence, security, courage, and zest for life.
This led me to train with many incredible mentors, both nationally and internationally. However, I learned the most from the horses themselves—from my own three, who couldn’t be more different from one another, and from the many others entrusted to me over the years. My goal is to pass on my knowledge and understanding of horses, extending a helping hand to as many riders and horses as possible.
